 Circus / Britney Spears 팝스타 브리트니 스피어스의 여섯 번째 정규앨범 '서커스'(Circus)가 발매 첫 주에 빌보드 앨범 차트에서 1위를 차지했다.

9일(이하 현지시간) 로이터 통신 등에 따르면 2일 발매된 '서커스'는 발매 첫 주에 50만 5000장을 팔아치우며 20일자 빌보드 앨범 차트의 정상을 정복했다. 

이로써 브리트니 스피어스는 다섯 번째 정규 앨범 '블랙아웃(Blackout)' 을 제외한 총 다섯 앨범을 빌보드 앨범 차트 1위에 올리는 기염을 토했으며, 그 중 네 앨범이 발매 첫 주에 1위에 올랐다. 

브리트니 스피어스보다 빌보드 앨범차트 1위 횟수가 많은 여자 가수는 바브라 스트라이샌드(8번), 마돈나(7번), 머라이어 캐리, 재닛 잭슨(6번)뿐이다. 

브리트니의 새 앨범은 미국 빌보드 차트를 비롯해 일본, 멕시코 등 5개국 앨범 차트에서도 동시에 1위에 올랐다   Circus / Britney Spears
